Digital Dubai Facilitates Easy Charity Contributions Via DubaiNow App

Digital Dubai has unveiled a comprehensive suite of digital services through the "DubaiNow" application, aimed at enhancing charity and humanitarian efforts. This initiative, part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Initiatives, was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. It focuses on facilitating donations for various causes, including the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which allows individuals to contribute in honour of their mothers, thereby fostering a culture of giving and strengthening social and family values.

The "DubaiNow" app also supports donations to "Jood", an integrated platform for community contributions in Dubai. This platform is designed to introduce charitable initiatives and motivate contributors to actively engage in establishing a foundation for sustainable development. It aligns with the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 33. The app offers a user-friendly interface for direct donations, including meals for fasting individuals during Ramadan, Zakat Al Fitr, and Zakat Al Maal.

Matar Al Hemeiri, Chief Executive of Digital Dubai Government Establishment, highlighted the UAE's tradition of supporting charitable activities. He emphasized that the digital transformation in Dubai necessitates innovative digital solutions to meet the growing needs and expectations of its digitally savvy population. With 99 percent internet penetration among residents, there is a significant demand for efficient digital channels for charitable donations. Al Hemeiri praised the success of the Zakat al-Fitr service provided through the DubaiNow application, citing its ease of use and popularity among various community segments.

Currently offering over 250 services, DubaiNow exemplifies Digital Dubai's commitment to sustainability and digital innovation. The platform supports global humanitarian initiatives and social values by facilitating donations through "Jood" and the Mother’s Endowment campaign. These efforts reflect the leadership's dedication to honouring mothers and promoting gratitude towards them. The development of these services is a collaborative effort with various government entities in Dubai, aiming to enhance Dubai's position as a global digital hub and a model for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social solidarity.

The list of charitable organisations accessible through the DubaiNow application includes Dar Al Ber Society, Dubai Cares, Al Jalila Foundation, Noor Dubai Foundation, Dubai Charity Association, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, and Tarahum Charitable Foundation.
