Digital Dubai Partners With Microsoft To Launch AI Skills Programme For Government Employees

Digital Dubai has partnered with Microsoft to enhance the AI knowledge and skills of government employees. This collaboration aligns with Dubai's comprehensive AI strategy, aiming to promote a culture focused on knowledge and practical application in government sectors. The initiative supports innovation and strengthens the digital knowledge economy, reflecting the leadership's vision.

The programme includes three training tracks. The IT Developers Track targets employees with basic tech skills and experienced professionals like software developers and data scientists. It also caters to project managers, HR professionals, and business specialists seeking to expand their AI expertise.

AI Skills Programme for Dubai Government Workforce

The second track, 'AI for All,' is designed to upskill employees by providing an overview of AI’s history, techniques, future trends, and its impact across various fields. This track is accessible through the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring broad availability for participants.

The third track focuses on executives, offering AI content tailored specifically for organisational leaders. This ensures that leadership is well-equipped to guide their organisations in leveraging AI technologies effectively.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, stated: "Developing digital skills and talent is a key focus in our strategy to digitalise life in Dubai, in line with the vision of our wise leadership. Today, artificial intelligence serves as the foundation upon which we base our plans to accelerate the pace of creating the future."

Al Mansoori emphasised that enhancing partnerships with leading organisations locally and globally is crucial. He noted that this collaboration with Microsoft supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 by fostering a knowledge-driven culture within government sectors.

Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Digital Dubai. He said: "We are excited to collaborate with Digital Dubai to drive skills development and empower government professionals across the UAE to fully leverage the potential of artificial intelligence technologies."

Yazbeck highlighted Microsoft's dedication to supporting Dubai's digital transformation vision by equipping individuals and organisations with tools necessary for unlocking AI's full potential across various sectors.

This initiative will span one year, aiming to equip as many government employees as possible with AI expertise. By doing so, it seeks to lay a solid foundation for a sustainable digital future while advancing the UAE's strategic goal of becoming a global technology hub.
