DIFC And IPEM Join Forces To Strengthen Global Private Markets Ecosystem In Dubai

Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has strengthened its position as a global hub for long-term capital by partnering with the International Private Equity Market (IPEM). This agreement was signed during the Dubai FinTech Summit. IPEM is known for connecting decision-makers, innovators, and investors in private markets. Dubai will now host an IPEM event, complementing existing gatherings in France.

The collaboration with IPEM enhances DIFC’s reputation as a leading platform for private equity markets. Dubai ranks first in the region according to the Global Financial Centre Index (GFCI). It is one of only eight cities globally recognised for comprehensive financial capabilities, alongside London, New York, and Paris.

DIFC and IPEM Collaborate on Private Markets

Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, stated: "The current global economic environment has amplified investor appetite for private capital, often viewed as resilient, long-term, and less susceptible to short-term market risks. The partnership with IPEM spotlights Dubai and DIFC as a global destination for long-term capital deployment and aligns with our vision to drive the future of finance and position Dubai among the world’s leading global financial centres in the world."

Antoine Colson, CEO of IPEM, remarked: "Dubai is a global hub for creative and transformative capital — a natural home for ‘IPEM Future’. This new event brings together the boldest LPs and GPs backing breakthroughs in AI, climate tech, longevity, space, and more. It is where private capital does not just perform - it transforms."

In anticipation of its December event in Dubai, IPEM introduced representatives from the global private capital industry at the Dubai FinTech Summit. This visit included participation in a specially curated event aimed at showcasing opportunities within private markets.

Focus on Innovation and Technology

The discussions at this event highlighted how private markets can create long-term value through innovation and technology. Participants explored how these elements are reshaping investor landscapes and emphasised the growing significance of the Middle East in this sector.

The partnership between DIFC and IPEM underscores Dubai's commitment to becoming a central player in global finance. By hosting events that attract key industry figures, Dubai aims to foster relationships that drive future growth in private equity markets.
