DHL Supply Chain Unveils Strategic Leadership Changes To Enhance Global Operations
DHL Supply Chain has embarked on a strategic move to elevate its global operations and focus keenly on customer satisfaction, announcing significant leadership changes set to take effect from 1 September 2025.
This initiative is a pivotal component of the company's ambitious Strategy 2030, aiming to enhance its customer-first approach and foster international growth. The restructuring includes the appointment of key personnel in vital roles designed to bolster the company's commitment to developing innovative supply chain solutions and nurturing customer relationships on a global scale.

At the heart of these strategic appointments, Andries Retief takes on the role of Chief Development Officer (CDO), tasked with spearheading the creation of cutting-edge supply chain solutions and enhancing strategic collaborations.
Retief, who brings over 15 years of leadership prowess spanning various continents including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, reports directly to Hendrik Venter, CEO of DHL Supply Chain. His appointment is instrumental in driving the company's growth initiatives, focusing on customer satisfaction and customising solutions to meet local market needs.
Retief's experience in developing customer-driven strategies and forging strong partnerships positions him well to lead DHL Supply Chain's efforts in innovating and implementing customer-centric growth strategies across the globe.
Adding to the strategic bolstering of DHL Supply Chain's leadership, Marco Brüggemann and Bremer Pauw have been appointed as Chief Customer Officers for Europe, and the Middle East & Africa, respectively. Brüggemann, a veteran at DHL since 2002, has played significant roles across Latin America and Europe.
He has been pivotal in transforming customer supply chains in the e-commerce domain within Germany & the Alps, facilitating the rapid expansion of omni-channel e-commerce operations.
On the other hand, Pauw, who continues his role as Managing Director for Africa, will now also spearhead commercial strategy and customer development across the Middle East & Africa from Dubai, UAE. Pauw's expertise in leading high-performance teams and delivering customer-centric logistics solutions across diverse markets demonstrates DHL Supply Chain's dedication to enhancing customer experience and operational resilience globally.
