DEWA Secures SEAL Business Sustainability Award 2025 For Innovative Environmental Services
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been honoured with the 'SEAL Business Sustainability Award' for 2025 in the 'Pioneering Sustainability Services' category. This accolade celebrates DEWA's Sustainability and Innovation Centre for its significant contributions to sustainability and environmental progress. The award recognises the centre's global impact in promoting energy transition efforts and achieving net-zero goals.
The award organisers commended the centre's eco-friendly building design, noting its exceptional educational environment. Throughout the year, it hosts various programmes and activities, such as the Middle East and North Africa Solar Conference, CleanTech Innovators exhibition, CleanTech Hackathon, and CleanTech Youth Programme. These initiatives are part of its collaboration with local and international academic institutions and start-ups.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, stated that the centre serves as a global incubator for renewable energy innovation. It supports Dubai's ambition to become a hub for green economy and sustainable development. "The centre empowers professionals and specialists, enhances their skills and knowledge, and strengthens their leadership capabilities," he said. The focus is also on developing Emirati talent to contribute to a sustainable future.
Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, highlighted that the centre has launched nine professional training courses so far. Over 220 participants have graduated with accredited certificates. Visitors can explore innovations in clean energy through interactive experiences offered by the centre.
The award also acknowledges the centre’s role in raising sustainability awareness within society. It aims to empower the next generation of sustainability leaders by providing them with necessary skills and knowledge. The centre plays a crucial part in achieving Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.
In addition to its educational programmes, the centre organises professional certification courses in collaboration with major academic organisations globally. These initiatives aim to foster an understanding of sustainable practices among professionals across various sectors.
