DEWA Showcases Its Role In Government Innovation At UAE Innovates 2025

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is actively participating in ‘UAE Innovates 2025’. This marks the 10th edition of the UAE’s innovation month, themed ‘The Power of 10 – Where Does Your Strength Lie?’ DEWA is showcasing its achievements that align with national digital transformation goals. The event also highlights DEWA's role in advancing government progress and celebrating innovators.

During Dubai Innovation Week, DEWA is presenting over 50 innovative projects at the Innovation Tent and across its facilities. Additionally, they are organising more than 35 workshops, both physical and virtual, aimed at employees and schoolchildren. These initiatives are designed to encourage participation in shaping a sustainable future.

The annual ‘Innovation and the Future Conference’ will take place at DEWA Academy on 25th February 2025. This event will feature 11 prominent local and international speakers, creatives, and innovators. The conference aims to foster dialogue on future innovations and their impact on society.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasised the influence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's directives. "Following the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, DEWA promotes the position of the UAE and Dubai as a global hub for innovation and innovators," he stated.

Al Tayer highlighted how ‘UAE Innovates’ has transformed innovation into a societal lifestyle and government approach over the past decade. "Since its inception 10 years ago, ‘UAE Innovates’ has succeeded in spreading the culture of innovation and transforming it into a lifestyle for society and a government working approach," he noted.

The initiative has also encouraged developing future business models that support the digital economy. It promotes innovative practices that have positioned the UAE government as one of the most innovative globally. "It further succeeded in encouraging the development of future business models supportive of the digital economy and innovative practices and methodologies, thus making the government of the UAE the most innovative in the world," added Al Tayer.

DEWA integrates disruptive technologies like generative artificial intelligence, blockchain, and metaverse to enhance life quality. These technologies improve business competitiveness while increasing stakeholder happiness. "We embrace innovation as an institutional approach, a social culture and an essential driver of continuous development," said Al Tayer.
