DEWA’s R&D Centre Highlights Scientific Advances In Latest Transactions Report

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Research and Development (R&D) Centre has released its fourth Transactions Report. This report highlights the Scopus Indexed scientific and research papers presented at international conferences and journals in 2023.

The report includes 71 research papers, showing a 14.5% increase from the previous year. These articles cover various topics such as solar energy, water, energy efficiency, smart grid integration, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, space technologies, and energy systems analysis.

DEWA R&D Reports Scientific Progress

Among the notable topics covered are 'Mission Profile Concept for PV Modules: Use Case - Middle East Deserts vs. Temperate European Climate' and 'Data-Driven Key Performance Indicators and Datasets for Building Energy Flexibility'. Other significant papers include 'Development of Flow Batteries Focusing on Flow Field Optimisation and Novel Methods for Estimating the Battery's Electrochemical Impedance' and 'A Comprehensive Lifecycle Assessment of the PV Reverse Osmosis Facility'.

DEWA has received numerous awards for the R&D centre's scientific contributions. Most notably, the centre received the Best Paper Award 2023 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This award was given for six papers presented at the first MENA Solar Conference organised by DEWA in November 2023.
