DEWA Contributes AED 20 Million To Mothers’ Endowment Campaign For Global Education

In a significant move towards supporting global education, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has pledged AED 20 million to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. This initiative, inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, aims to establish a AED 1 billion endowment fund. The fund is dedicated to advancing the education of millions worldwide, aligning with the holy month of Ramadan's spirit of honoring parents, kindness, compassion, and community solidarity.

The campaign underscores the UAE's commitment to humanitarian causes and sustainable development by providing educational opportunities and empowerment. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the organization's dedication to supporting charity and humanitarian initiatives led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering human solidarity and creating sustainable opportunities for underprivileged communities, thereby enhancing stability and supporting the United Nations' fourth sustainable development goal for 2030.

DEWA's AED 20M Boost for Education

Al Tayer expressed DEWA's honor in contributing to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which not only celebrates mothers' sacrifices but also builds on the success of previous Ramadan campaigns initiated by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. The campaign aims to address the critical challenge of lack of quality education that hinders global progress towards inclusive and equitable education for all.

The funds raised through the Mothers’ Endowment campaign will be utilized to launch educational projects in underprivileged communities in collaboration with humanitarian organizations. The campaign continues to accept donations from both institutions and individuals through various channels. These include its website (Mothersfund.ae), a dedicated call center via toll-free number (800 9999), bank transfers to Emirates Islamic Bank (AE790340003708472909201), SMS donations for Etisalat by e& users, the DubaiNow app under the "Donations" tab, and Jood (Jood.ae), Dubai’s community contributions platform.

This initiative not only highlights DEWA's commitment to global educational development but also reinforces the UAE's role as a key player in addressing global challenges through sustainable solutions.
