DESC Launches Registration For The 2025 Cyberspace Leaders Programme For Youth In Dubai
The Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) has opened registration for its latest Cyberspace Leaders Programme. This initiative, aimed at students aged 13 to 18, will be held at the University of Dubai from 30 June to 10 July. Running daily from 9 AM to 1 PM, the programme offers an interactive setting to enhance digital skills and address cybersecurity challenges.
Organised with partners like the Dubai Cyber Innovation Park (DCIPark), University of Dubai, EMT, and Tech Firm, this programme underscores DESC's dedication to promoting cybersecurity culture. It aims to equip young people with the necessary knowledge and tools for safeguarding digital ecosystems, contributing towards a secure digital society.

Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, Chief Executive of DESC, stated: "The launch of the Cyberspace Leaders Program forms part of an integrated initiative aimed at preparing a digitally aware and capable generation. This supports the Center’s vision to embed cybersecurity knowledge within society and empower young national talent to lead the protection of Dubai’s cyberspace in the years ahead. Empowering future generations with specialized digital expertise is a cornerstone for strengthening Dubai’s global competitiveness and advancing toward a secure and technology-driven digital future."
The training includes specialised lectures and workshops that combine theory with practical application. This approach ensures students understand cybersecurity fundamentals in an engaging manner. The first week covers basics like creating strong passwords and practicing digital hygiene through interactive challenges.
In addition to introductory sessions, advanced topics such as antivirus technologies and Wi-Fi network protection are explored. Practical workshops teach students how to set up home security systems and identify common cyber threats along with effective prevention methods.
To encourage critical thinking, sessions on hardware-level cybersecurity are included. These involve analytical activities that inspire students to design secure solutions using global technologies as models.
Interactive Activities Enhance Learning
The educational experience is enriched by interactive activities like code-breaking games and cybersecurity-themed puzzles. These entertainment-based tasks aim to make learning fun while embedding cybersecurity knowledge in students' minds effectively.
This comprehensive programme not only educates but also inspires students by fostering innovation and critical thinking skills essential for future digital leaders. By participating, students gain valuable insights into protecting cyberspace while enjoying a stimulating learning environment.
