Department Of Municipalities And Transport Signs Four Strategic MoUs At GITEX Global 2024 To Enhance Infrastructure

The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has signed four strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with LOCAI, Siemens Advanta, Core42, and Presight AI Technologies at GITEX Global 2024. This move is part of DMT's ongoing efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi's technological infrastructure. The signing event was attended by Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of DMT, along with other senior officials.

Dr. Saif Al Nasri from DMT remarked on the agreements, stating, "By collaborating with these leading innovators, we are taking significant strides that ensure that our infrastructure is not only efficient but durable, leveraging high-tech ideas and solutions to improve the overall well-being for all who call Abu Dhabi home. We are confident that these relationships will have a lasting impact across key sectors, strengthening our efforts to keep the Emirate at the forefront of progress."

Through partnerships with LOCAI and Core42, DMT aims to advance innovations in smart cities, big data, and artificial intelligence. These collaborations will also support DMT’s cloud transformation journey. Strategic initiatives will be implemented to demonstrate the benefits of the Department’s development projects.

Siemens Advanta will play a crucial role in enhancing DMT’s operational efficiency while reducing energy consumption. By integrating advanced technologies as part of the Smart and Cognitive Cities programme, Siemens Advanta will help develop cities that are prepared for future challenges.

Presight AI Technologies will assist the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) within DMT in research and development related to artificial intelligence applications in mobility. This includes improving transportation efficiency and safety through traffic management solutions and enterprise fleet management software.

The collaboration with Presight AI Technologies also involves managing EV charging infrastructure and implementing a commercial transport AI system. Additionally, it focuses on transport safety solutions while promoting knowledge transfer and capacity building in AI.
