Isaac Del Toro Achieves Overall Victory At Tour Of Austria For UAE Team Emirates-XRG
Isaac del Toro emerged victorious at the Tour of Austria, clinching the overall win with a commanding performance that included three consecutive stage victories. The 21-year-old Mexican cyclist, representing UAE Team Emirates-XRG, completed the final stage safely within the reduced peloton, capping off a successful week for his team.
Del Toro's victory marks his second general classification title in his professional career and contributes to the team's impressive tally of 62 wins this season. His success was built on consecutive wins in stages 2, 3, and 4, following a strong start by teammate Felix Großschartner, who claimed victory in stage 1 with a solo attack.

In the final stage on Sunday, Bob Jungels from Ineos Grenadiers took the win from a breakaway. Meanwhile, Florian Vermeersch of UAE Team Emirates-XRG sprinted to third place. Del Toro’s teammate Rafał Majka consistently performed throughout the race, finishing third overall. Großschartner secured 10th place in the general classification.
The Emirati team successfully defended their Tour of Austria title from 2024, concluding the five-day race with five stage victories. Del Toro expressed gratitude towards his teammates Filippo Baroncini, Alessandro Covi, and Julius Johansen for their support. "I am pretty happy and excited because the team did a crazy good job during the whole week," said Del Toro. "Florian did third [on the final stage], and all the other stages went crazy for us. We can be proud of what we did this week and super happy."
Meanwhile, at the Tour de France, UAE Team Emirates-XRG faced a setback as João Almeida withdrew from stage 9 due to injury. The Portuguese climber had tried to continue after crashing on stage 7 but ultimately had to abandon. The team extended wishes for his speedy recovery.
The Tour of Austria showcased UAE Team Emirates-XRG's strength and teamwork as they celebrated another significant achievement in their cycling season.
