DCT Abu Dhabi Unveils Strategic Partnerships For Global Tourism Growth And Visitor Experiences
At the Arabian Travel Market 2025, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) laid out its ambitious plans through a series of strategic partnerships aimed at boosting tourism and enriching the experiences of visitors from around the world. These partnerships, spanning Europe, Saudi Arabia, India, and other significant markets, are designed to highlight the diverse attractions and year-round appeal Abu Dhabi has to offer.
Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, expressed his enthusiasm about these new collaborations, stating, "The strategic partnerships signed at Arabian Travel Market 2025 represent a significant step forward in our efforts to position Abu Dhabi as a world-class tourism destination. Targeted collaborations across Europe, Saudi Arabia, India, and other key markets, enable us to enhance Abu Dhabi's international profile and reinforcing its appeal as a dynamic, year-round destination.

"Globally and locally, these partnerships underline our commitment to sustainable growth, offering unique, tailored experiences that resonate with diverse global audiences, while ensuring the long-term resilience and innovation of the sector."
DCT Abu Dhabi is keen on fostering its relationship with European markets, recognizing their vital role in attracting international visitors. This includes hosting Loop Leisure Autumn 2025 from 12–16 October at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi. The event is set to welcome 130 high-caliber travel agents, tour operators, and media from predominantly German-speaking areas. This follows the success of the Loop Beyond Borders event in 2024, showcasing Abu Dhabi's unique offerings to Central and Eastern European travel professionals.
In parallel, DCT Abu Dhabi is expanding its reach into key source markets, including Saudi Arabia and India, understanding their potential for attracting a broader visitor base. Collaborations with leading travel platforms such as Almosafer and Flyin aim to entice more Saudi visitors by highlighting Abu Dhabi's cultural, leisure, and luxury offerings. Another partnership with Rehlat, a Middle Eastern online booking platform, and TBO, a global travel distribution channel, will leverage digital and regional expertise to increase tourism inflow from the Middle East.
DCT Abu Dhabi's collaboration with Holiday Tribe targets the Indian market, aiming to attract 5,500 visitors over the next 18 months through campaigns spotlighting Abu Dhabi's authentic experiences. This is in response to the significant 43% increase in Indian hotel guests in 2024, affirming India's status as a top source market for inbound visitors to Abu Dhabi.
DCT Abu Dhabi's efforts extend to enhancing the overall visitor experience, aligning with the targets of Tourism Strategy 2030. Initiatives like the Expedia Sunshine Pass campaign demonstrate a commitment to presenting Abu Dhabi as an all-season destination through a robust multi-channel marketing approach.
Partnering with Rotana Hotels, DCT Abu Dhabi aims to drive direct bookings and mitigate seasonality issues. This collaboration is set to enhance Abu Dhabi's year-round appeal, especially during off-peak periods, by leveraging Rotana's strong regional presence and global loyalty program.
Furthermore, a strategic agreement with Fazaa aims to enrich the domestic visitor experience, offering UAE residents curated experiences and exclusive packages. This initiative encourages local tourism, particularly during summer vacations and long weekends.
Working with DMC Arabia, DCT Abu Dhabi plans to increase visitors to the Al Ain Region throughout the year, using tailored itineraries that highlight the city's rich heritage and cultural sites. This is part of a broader strategy to create a dynamic tourism ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, aiming to attract 39.3 million visitors by 2030.
DCT Abu Dhabi's dedication to sustainability and cultural representation was recognized at the Arabian Travel Market, with the Experience Abu Dhabi stand winning accolades for its environmentally friendly design. The stand featured sustainable practices, such as using locally sourced water and eliminating single-use plastics, while also showcasing Abu Dhabi's cultural and culinary heritage through local SMEs and artisans. This recognition underscores DCT Abu Dhabi's commitment to sustainability, innovation, and providing exceptional experiences for all visitors.
