World Governments Summit 2025 Kicks Off Tomorrow With Key Forums In Dubai

The World Governments Summit 2025 begins tomorrow, 10th February, in Dubai. This event will run until 13th February under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’. Day Zero will feature several significant forums such as the Arab Fiscal Forum and the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders. These events will see participation from key officials, visionaries, decision-makers, and international organisations.

With its 12th edition, the summit is witnessing unprecedented global involvement. Over 30 heads of state and government are attending alongside more than 80 international and regional organisations. Additionally, there are 140 government delegations and thought leaders discussing major global trends in over 200 interactive sessions with more than 300 speakers.

World Governments Summit 2025 Starts Tomorrow

The Arab Fiscal Forum is a collaborative effort by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the UAE Ministry of Finance. It aims to design efficient fiscal policies to tackle debt vulnerabilities amid tighter financing constraints. Key topics include subsidy reforms, tax administration, and public sector enterprise reforms.

Speakers at the forum’s opening session include Mohamed Al Hussaini, UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director; and Dr. Fahad Al Turki, Director-General of the AMF. Other sessions will focus on macroeconomic developments affecting fiscal positions and options for fiscal policy design amidst mounting debt pressures.

The Arab Meeting for Young Leaders provides a platform for collaboration between decision-makers and Arab youth. This meeting involves youth extensively in preparation, implementation, attendance, and participation phases. The event is hosted with support from governmental and non-governmental partners who believe in empowering youth.

Sessions at this meeting cover diverse topics such as the Arab Youth Competitiveness Index: Thriving in a Rapidly Changing World; The Vision of the League of Arab States; The Art of Etiquette: An Arab Perspective; The Last Drop of Oil: Seizing Opportunities; Made in the Arab World among others.

Young Arab Leaders Forum: Fostering Innovation

The Young Arab Leaders Forum also takes place on Day Zero. This dynamic platform focuses on empowering young innovators through mentorship programmes and educational initiatives. It aims to prepare youth for future challenges by leveraging insights from prominent leaders across various fields.

Forum sessions will address preparing young leaders for a new world and examining the economic state of the Arab world. Discussions will explore leadership roles in entrepreneurship, sports, arts, culture, and management at senior levels.

The summit will host over 30 ministerial meetings attended by more than 400 ministers. These meetings aim to foster dialogue on pressing issues facing governments worldwide while exploring innovative solutions to enhance governance practices globally.
