CycloTech Launches UAE Subsidiary To Enhance Sustainable Mobility In Abu Dhabi's SAVI Cluster
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and CycloTech GmbH, an Austrian aerospace firm, have announced the creation of a new subsidiary in Abu Dhabi. This initiative is part of the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster. The subsidiary aims to strengthen CycloTech's presence in the Middle East and promote its propulsion technology globally, enhancing Abu Dhabi's role as a leader in sustainable mobility innovation.
ADIO will collaborate with CycloTech to support the company's establishment and growth. This includes providing tailored support, strategic advice, and access to Abu Dhabi’s expanding mobility ecosystem. The partnership aligns with Abu Dhabi’s goal to develop a competitive low-altitude economy and become a global hub for advanced air mobility (AAM).

CycloTech’s unique CycloRotor™ propulsion system offers compact and highly manoeuvrable aircraft designs. These are ideal for urban, vertical, and last-mile applications. From its new base in Masdar City, CycloTech will work with certification partners, regulators, and aerospace stakeholders to validate and deploy CycloRotor systems for commercial and civil aviation use.
Badr Al Olama, Director-General of ADIO, stated that CycloTech’s decision to launch in Abu Dhabi highlights the emirate's vision and readiness to host innovative aerospace developments. "By localising development and certification in the UAE, this partnership reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a global launchpad for sustainable, precision-led mobility solutions while advancing the emirate’s transformation into an innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy," he said.
Dr. Marcus Bauer, CEO of CycloTech GmbH, expressed enthusiasm about the new subsidiary in Abu Dhabi. He noted that with ADIO’s strategic backing and the SAVI cluster’s integrated ecosystem, CycloTech is well-positioned to bring its technology into real-world operations. "Abu Dhabi offers the perfect launchpad for scaling our technology across the Middle East and global markets," Dr. Bauer remarked.
This collaboration is expected to bolster Abu Dhabi's status as a centre for sustainable mobility solutions. It also supports the emirate's transformation into an innovation-driven economy by localising development efforts within the UAE.
The establishment of this subsidiary marks a significant step for CycloTech as it seeks to expand its reach in regional and international markets. By leveraging Abu Dhabi's resources and strategic location, CycloTech aims to advance its propulsion technology on a broader scale.
