CSG To Invest AED 300 Million In Intelligent Energy-Saving Glass Plant In Abu Dhabi
China Southern Glass (CSG), a global leader in energy-efficient glass, is set to establish its first overseas manufacturing facility in the UAE. This AED300 million investment will be located in ICAD 1, Musaffah, and aims to create 400 specialised jobs. The project aligns with Abu Dhabi's goals for industrial growth and economic diversification.
The facility will occupy a 95,000 square metre plot within ICAD 1. It will serve as CSG's regional headquarters for producing high-performance energy-saving glass. Once operational, the plant is expected to produce over 5 million square metres of coated, laminated, and insulating glass annually. These products will cater to construction projects across the UAE, Gulf region, Europe, Africa, and the United States.

Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO of Economic Cities & Free Zones at AD Ports Group, stated that CSG's investment signifies strong confidence in Abu Dhabi’s industrial strategy. He noted that by creating numerous jobs and localising high-quality glass production, the project would bolster Abu Dhabi’s industrial base. This move is expected to reduce reliance on imports and create new opportunities across the value chain.
The new Abu Dhabi plant will feature automated production lines equipped with world-leading coating technology. Operations are anticipated to commence by late 2026. This facility aims to supply locally manufactured glass to UAE developers, thereby reducing regional import dependence.
Wenxin Wang, Vice President & CFO of CSG Group, highlighted that Abu Dhabi provides an ideal platform for their first Middle Eastern manufacturing venture. Through KEZAD Group, they gain access to top-tier infrastructure and logistics while being close to key markets globally.
Leading sustainable businesses are choosing KEZAD for expansion in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia regions. CSG’s operations in Abu Dhabi aim to advance energy-efficient glass manufacturing. This supports regional construction needs while aligning with the UAE’s green building and clean energy agenda.
CSG's energy-saving glass has already been used in iconic landmarks worldwide. Their new factory will feature fully intelligent digitalised production lines and advanced coating technologies. This positions it at the forefront of global glass manufacturing.
The new facility will not only provide premium energy-saving glass for the UAE and Gulf but also contribute significantly to local industrial economic development over time.
