Crown Prince Of Fujairah Opens Fujcon 2025 Forum To Discuss Sustainable Marine Fuels
The Crown Prince of Fujairah, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, emphasised the emirate's significant role in marine services and ship bunkering. He highlighted Fujairah's strategic importance as a global maritime hub and its contributions to sustainable energy. This was during the 14th Fujairah International Bunkering and Fuel Oil Forum (Fujcon 2025), themed "Achieving Maritime Vision: Sailing Towards Sustainable Fuels".
Organised under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, the forum took place at DoubleTree by Hilton Fujairah. It was hosted by the Fujairah Department of Industry and Economy and the Port of Fujairah, with support from the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone. Sheikh Mohammed praised Sheikh Hamad's ongoing support for the forum’s objectives.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed Fujairah’s dedication to promoting clean energy in vital sectors like maritime. He noted that this commitment enhances its international reputation in ship fuel services and infrastructure. The forum plays a crucial role in tackling maritime industry challenges by attracting experts and decision-makers to foster discussions and develop recommendations for sector advancement.
Mohammed Obaid bin Majed Al Alili, Director-General of the Department of Industry and Economy in Fujairah, delivered a keynote speech affirming Fujairah’s pivotal role in the global shift towards clean energy. He stated that hosting Fujcon 2025 aligns with the UAE’s net-zero ambitions.
Al Alili also announced that World Maritime Day will be hosted by Fujairah in September 2025. This event underscores both the UAE’s and the emirate’s dedication to marine environmental protection and international cooperation for a sustainable future.
Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, Chairman of the forum’s organising committee, opened with remarks on how sessions will address key issues affecting maritime navigation. These discussions aim to expand sustainable opportunities within the industry.

Saif Ghobash Al Marri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Petroleum, Gas, and Mineral Resources at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to adopting best practices in marine services. He emphasised transforming challenges into opportunities for achieving a sustainable energy future.
The forum serves as a platform for enriching discussions on advancing clean energy solutions within maritime sectors globally. It brings together leading experts to address challenges while supporting global transformations towards sustainability.
