Creative Media Authority And NG9 Holding Sign AED 55 Million Partnership For Film Production

The Abu Dhabi Creative Media Authority (CMA) has entered into a strategic alliance with NG9 Group, which includes Nirvana Holding, Gewan Holding, and 9Yards Group. This collaboration aims to produce two feature films and a 10-episode TV series valued at AED55 million (US$15 million) for worldwide distribution. Principal photography is scheduled to start in September, utilising local crews and Emirati talent.

NG9 Group will offer preferential rates on hotels, car rentals, flights, and tourism services for projects supported by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC). This includes special vehicle rentals like yachts and private jets. The CMA will provide location support, talent development initiatives, casting services, and the ADFC cashback rebate as part of this partnership.

CMA and NG9 Holding Partner for Film Project

Rami Tmaish, General Manager of 9Yards Pictures, expressed optimism about the partnership's potential to highlight Emirati creativity globally. Efforts are underway to identify Emirati talent in acting, directing, and writing to empower them locally and internationally. This initiative aims to build a robust production ecosystem that enhances the presence of Emirati content with a modern global appeal.

Khalid Khouri, Director of Industry Development at CMA, stated: "As we work to position Abu Dhabi as one of the world’s leading creative hubs, expanding our local industry offering remains a core focus. This exciting new partnership with extensive NG9 team opens up fresh opportunities for investment and collaboration, driving growth across the local economy."

He said it attracts more production partners who can use their rebate programme while showcasing Abu Dhabi's diverse filming locations. The aim is also to employ talented production specialists and businesses while highlighting Abu Dhabi's rich cultural heritage through engaging film content.

This partnership between CMA and NG9 Group is set to boost Abu Dhabi's creative industry by integrating local talent into international projects. By focusing on Emirati culture and heritage in film production, it aims to position Abu Dhabi as a leading creative hub globally.
