Community Run At ADNEC Inspires Enthusiasm For Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026
The Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 is gaining traction as the event approaches. Recently, a community run was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) as part of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports. Organised by the Open Masters Games in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this event saw runners of all ages and abilities participate in 1km, 3km, and 5km races.
Participants enjoyed a fully air-conditioned indoor arena, sharing a commitment to fitness and community spirit. The event attracted everyone from novice joggers to seasoned athletes, celebrating active living and building excitement for the region's inaugural Open Masters Games.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Senior Project Manager at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, expressed his enthusiasm: "The energy at ADNEC was truly inspiring. This community-run perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 – bringing people together through sport, promoting healthy lifestyles, and building anticipation for what will be a landmark event for the UAE."
The Games are set to be a significant milestone for the Middle East. Scheduled from 6-15 February 2026 across more than 20 venues, it will be the largest international sports event in the region. Over 25,000 participants are expected to compete in 33 sports, including four traditional ones that honour UAE's cultural heritage.
The Open Masters Games aims to create an inclusive platform open to individuals aged 30 or older. It promotes social connections, healthy living, and excellence without age barriers. The event is anticipated to attract over 100 nationalities, fostering multiculturalism and intergenerational dialogue.
This initiative highlights diversity and longevity among older generations while encouraging healthy lifestyles. As excitement builds with less than 200 days until the opening ceremony, organisers continue engaging with communities to share their vision for a healthier future.
Participation in events like Abu Dhabi Summer Sports has been crucial in connecting with local communities. It allows organisers to promote their vision of an active lifestyle while preparing for this historic occasion.
