Commercial Bank And Mastercard Introduce Multicurrency Travel Prepaid Cards In Qatar
Qatar's Commercial Bank (CB) has partnered with leading exchange houses to launch Mastercard multicurrency travel prepaid cards. The reloadable cards, which can hold USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD and QAR, are available at Al Fardan Exchange branches, Al Zaman Exchange, Gulf Exchange, Al Dar Exchange and City Exchange. They can be used any point of sale (POS), e-commerce platform and ATM locally and internationally where Mastercard is accepted.
The card is linked to a dedicated mobile app that provides cardholders with real-time access to their spending balances and transaction history. Users can instantly switch funds between available currencies or block the card if lost or stolen. The card can be reloaded at any participating exchange house branches in Qatar.
Shahnawaz Rashid, EGM and Head of Retail Banking at Commercial Bank, said the launch demonstrated the bank's commitment to bringing innovative banking solutions to customers. He added that the simplicity of use and consumer-friendly interface allowed cardholders to be in control of their multicurrency travel prepaid cards.
