CMA Collaborates With FilmGate To Strengthen Abu Dhabi's Creative Production Sector
Abu Dhabi’s Creative Media Authority (CMA) has partnered with FilmGate, a prominent Emirati-owned production house, to enhance the production industry in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration aims to produce at least 15 projects over five years, employing half of the talent from within CMA's ecosystem. The initiative also includes workshops and internships to nurture local talent.
Mohamed Dobay, Acting Director-General of CMA, emphasised the importance of partnerships with regional production leaders. He stated, "Establishing partnerships with local and regional production leaders is a key element of our industry development strategy to make Abu Dhabi a global content hub." Dobay highlighted the need to support Arab content creation in Abu Dhabi.

FilmGate will benefit from an updated rebate offered by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission. Productions meeting specific criteria can apply for cashback on expenses ranging from 35% to 50%. This financial incentive aims to attract more productions to the region, enhancing its appeal as a filming destination.
The partnership will offer significant learning opportunities through annual workshops and internships. Four six-month paid internships will be available each year for young Emirati talents, aiming to provide permanent employment opportunities. These initiatives are designed to foster growth and development within the UAE's creative sector.
Mansoor Al yahbouni al Dhaheri, CEO and Founder of FilmGate, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. He noted that the new rebate starting January 1 would allow them to maximise Abu Dhabi's offerings in terms of locations, infrastructure, talent, and financial support. Al Dhaheri is known for his work screened at international film festivals.
FilmGate was founded by Mansoor Al yahbouni al Dhaheri, a renowned filmmaker whose works have been showcased globally.
