Cities In Action Forum To Promote Sustainable Urban Development And Innovation In Dubai
Expo City Dubai is set to host its annual Cities in Action Forum in February 2025. This event will focus on promoting investment and innovation to support the city's growth. The forum aims to provide industry insights based on evidence, encouraging partnerships for developing prosperous, equitable, sustainable, and resilient urban environments.
The forum, scheduled for February 6-7, will connect developers, architects, and planners. It will address urban priorities and foster collaboration with government bodies and institutions. Innovators, entrepreneurs, and SMEs will be engaged in creating sustainable urban solutions.

Following the launch of Expo City’s master plan, the forum will offer a platform for investors, city leaders, and creatives. They can explore key aspects of the city and participate in its innovation ecosystem. The event aims to tackle shared global challenges through a leadership perspective.
Decision-makers at the forum will discuss how cities can lead in a changing world. They will explore pragmatic solutions and technologies for future cities. New approaches that enable communities to thrive harmoniously with nature will also be discussed.
The sessions aim to guide investment decisions and inspire innovation roadmaps. Nadia Verjee, Executive Director of Global Initiatives and Advisory at Expo City Dubai, stated: "Expo City’s master plan has already attracted significant interest from businesses, innovators, future residents, developers and investors who are eager to be part of a city that is setting new benchmarks in global urban excellence."
Engaging Sessions and Activities
The forum offers plenary sessions, workshops, exhibitions, networking opportunities, behind-the-scenes tours, and ‘Urban Walks’. These guided walks allow participants to experience innovative urban solutions integrated into Expo City Dubai.
Nadia Verjee further emphasised the importance of balancing human progress with environmental stewardship: "Balancing human progress with environmental stewardship and sustainable economic growth is not only possible; it is imperative." She highlighted that the forum would serve as a platform for investment and knowledge-sharing.
The Cities in Action Forum aims to maintain momentum as a global community of urban centres by fostering partnerships and collaboration. It seeks to ensure that cities continue setting new benchmarks in urban excellence worldwide.
