Chilean President Embraces Tolerance At Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric Font, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was joined by Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Chile, and several senior Chilean officials. This visit was part of his official trip to the UAE.

President Boric and his delegation started their tour by paying respects at the mausoleum of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. They reflected on the Founding Father's qualities and wise approach, which have enriched global culture with tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Chilean Leader Visits UAE Mosque

During their visit, President Boric and his team toured the mosque's halls and external corridors. They were accompanied by Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre. The delegation received a briefing on the mosque's message of coexistence, tolerance, and openness to others.

The Centre plays a significant role in promoting a tolerant Islamic culture. It enhances cultural communication between different cultures and peoples worldwide. The delegation explored the history of the grand structure, its aesthetic grandeur, and the exquisite art of Islamic architecture displayed in all its aspects.

At the end of their visit, President Boric received a special gift encapsulating the mosque's beauty. The gift included floral mosaic designs from the exterior columns, a compass inspired by the mosque's chandeliers, and a copy of "Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace." This publication offers a photographic journey through the mosque's architectural splendour.

The book features award-winning images from the "Spaces of Light" Photography Award. It highlights the unique architectural artistry of the mosque, showcasing its intricate designs and cultural significance.
