chatlyn Secures €8M Series A to Become the AI Infrastructure for Hospitality

chatlyn, an AI communication platform, has recently acquired €8 million in Series A funding, spearheaded by Smedvig Ventures. This significant financial backing includes contributions from influential figures and entities such as Andreas Burike, founder of AnyDesk, Blaguss, a prominent figure in Austrian transportation, and Mathias Hiebeler, a business angel known for his previous ownership of Grob aircraft.

Strategic investments also came from experts in the hospitality sector. Additionally, chatlyn benefited from an innovation grant awarded by the FFG, Austria's leading sponsor of industry-related research and development.

Chatlyn Raises 8 Million for Hotel AI Solutions

This fresh influx of capital is set to propel chatlyn towards its goal to revolutionize hotel operations. The platform is designed to serve as an AI powerhouse, enhancing the efficiency of various hotel functions such as front desk services, reservations, marketing, and guest relations.

By doing so, chatlyn aims to refine how hotels communicate with guests, ensuring that each interaction is optimized to boost satisfaction and revenue. This move could significantly impact the hospitality industry's current challenges with fragmented communication systems.

Addressing Hospitality's Communication Challenges

The hospitality industry grapples with a communication crisis that costs approximately €10 billion annually. This loss is attributed to disjointed guest communication systems, missed booking opportunities, and inefficient staff workflows.

Hotels are overwhelmed by the need to manage 8-12 different messaging platforms, ranging from WhatsApp and email to booking channels and social media. This complexity hampers staff efficiency and frustrates guests who expect swift, personalized services.

Nicolas Vorsteher, CEO and Co-founder of chatlyn, highlights the urgency of addressing these issues. "Every day, hotels are missing revenue because a guest inquiry comes in at 2 AM and gets lost in the shuffle, or a staff member can't quickly find the right response in the right language. In today's world, you lose potential guests when you don't respond immediately," Vorsteher explains.

He envisions a future where chatlyn facilitates meaningful conversations within the hospitality sector, freeing up staff to focus on in-person interactions by utilizing an AI that's fluent in over 35 languages and capable of learning each property's unique communication style.

Technological Excellence and Rapid Growth

Since its inception in late 2022, chatlyn has experienced swift adoption by over 1,000 properties in 30 countries, including prestigious brands such as St. Regis Mauritius and Singer Palace Rome.

The company's recent establishment of a Middle East office in Dubai underscores its commitment to expanding its foothold in luxury hospitality markets. chatlyn's success is driven by several pioneering features, including an AI-powered visual webchat and a comprehensive AI assistant suite capable of handling every communication touchpoint with real-time translation in more than 35 languages.

One notable testimony to chatlyn's impact comes from Garry Loefgen, Head of Commercial at InterContinental Vienna, who praises the AI assistant's ability to instantly address over 70% of inquiries in multiple languages.

Loefgen notes, "Our AI assistant handles over 70% of inquiries instantly in perfect German, English, Arabic, and many other languages, while our team focuses on creating magical moments. It's like having a multilingual concierge that never sleeps and gets smarter every day."

Fueling Future Innovations and Expansion

The Series A funding marks a significant milestone for chatlyn, enabling it to pursue aggressive expansion and product development strategies.

Plans include bolstering its agentic AI capabilities, launching a seamless AI Booking Assistant, and expanding its market presence across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the UAE. Furthermore, chatlyn aims to enhance its team, positioning itself as a leader in AI-driven solutions for the hospitality industry.

Michael Urbanek, CTO and Co-founder, emphasizes the transformative potential of chatlyn's AI, stating, "Our AI doesn't just automate responses; it understands context, anticipates needs, and creates those delightful moments that turn first-time guests into lifelong advocates."

This vision is supported by chatlyn's recognition as the Best Chatbot Solution Provider in 2024 by the World Travel Awards and its receipt of an innovation grant from the FFG.

chatlyn's recent funding and strategic plans signal a promising future for AI in the hospitality industry.
