Centena Group Earns ESG Label With 83% Environmental Score From Dubai Chamber Of Commerce

Centena Group has firmly established itself as a frontrunner in the implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, achieving a score of 83 per cent in environmental performance.

This distinction was awarded by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, highlighting Centena Group's exemplary efforts in energy efficiency, resource management, and sustainable operations. The company's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint through state-of-the-art conservation methods and energy-saving practices has set a benchmark in the industry.

The company's approach to sustainability is comprehensive, spanning various business divisions with targeted strategies. For instance, ScreenCheck, the security division, innovates to minimize waste and energy usage through products like rewritable ID cards and energy-efficient data center solutions.

Emphor IPS, focusing on industrial and analytical solutions, aids companies in adhering to environmental regulations by offering advanced water treatment and emission monitoring systems.

Maritronics, the marine electronics arm, contributes to protecting marine life with its ballast water management systems. Moreover, ATLAB, dedicated to education, introduces students to sustainable practices and renewable energy, preparing the next generation to address environmental challenges adeptly.

Following the comprehensive evaluation, Centena Group has not only celebrated its achievements but also identified areas for improvement, receiving a 71 per cent score in preparedness and awareness. The evaluation pointed out potential for a more significant impact, recommending strategies such as optimising transportation for lower emissions, engaging in carbon offset programs like tree planting, and broadening waste reduction measures to include office and food waste.
