CEE-UAE Investopia Strategic Economic Forum Launches To Enhance Investment In AI, Space, And Defence Sectors
The "CEE-UAE Investopia Strategic Economic Forum" was held in Dubai by Investopia. This event aims to boost economic ties between the UAE and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in sectors like AI, space, defense, energy, and advanced technologies. The forum seeks to create new investment channels and explore emerging opportunities shaping the global economy's future.
H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of Investopia, attended the forum alongside ministers, officials, business leaders, and investors from both regions. Bin Touq participated in a session titled "Geopolitical and Geo-economic Restructuring" with H.E. Milon Zugovic from Montenegro and Dr. Tamás Fellegi from Hungary.

During the session, bin Touq highlighted the expanding economic partnership between the UAE and CEE. He mentioned strategic agreements on double taxation elimination and investment protection as key factors supporting this growth. "The economic partnership between the UAE and CEE continues to expand and diversify," he stated.
The forum featured discussions on cooperation across key sectors like AI, space, defense, energy, and technology. These areas are crucial for strengthening economic partnerships between the UAE and CEE. A session titled "Enablers of the Investment Environment in the UAE" showcased the advantages of investing in the UAE market.
Dr. Tamás Fellegi emphasized that the forum serves as a platform for deepening discussions on economic partnerships. "The ‘Investopia Strategic Economic Forum’ serves as an important platform for deepening discussions," he said. The event fosters innovation and cooperation on competitive economic policies.
A session titled "Future horizon: Artificial Intelligence, Space, and Defense" examined CEE's industrial strengths in these sectors. Speakers discussed leveraging these capabilities for joint economic advancement in regional and global markets.
Enhancing Global Competitiveness
The forum also included a session on space, defense, and communication sectors presented by Peter Fekete of 4iG Group PLC. It reviewed investment opportunities in these fields to enhance global competitiveness.
Another session titled "Dubai: A Global Platform for Connectivity, Growth, and Sustainability" highlighted Dubai’s dynamic business environment supported by agile legislation. Mohammed Sharaf outlined how these frameworks attract local and international investors.
Energy Sector Collaborations
The session "Energy Transitions: The Resilience of CEE Economies" explored collaboration prospects between GCC countries and CEE nations in energy sectors. It focused on aligning technological capabilities with financing enablers for sustainable projects.
A discussion titled "Policies and New Pathways: What Europe Offers" examined European policies creating cooperation opportunities with UAE. Aron Fellegi moderated this session featuring former ministers from Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary.
Facilitating Business Setup
A presentation titled "From Idea to Enterprise: Setting Up in the UAE" outlined procedures for establishing businesses swiftly in the UAE. Omar Al Faheem highlighted the country’s competitiveness in enabling efficient company setups.
The forum concluded with plans to host new editions of Investopia Global Dialogues next year across Central Eastern Europe to strengthen knowledge exchange innovation partnerships globally.
Since its inception in 2021 Investopia has attracted over 16 thousand participants from 71 countries through events worldwide advancing UAE’s ambition as a premier global investment destination expanding links with dynamic markets globally.
