CBUAE Appoints Faiza Al Awadhi As Chief Executive Officer Of Sanadak Ombudsman Unit
The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has appointed Faiza Al Awadhi as the CEO and Managing Director of "Sanadak," the first Ombudsman Unit in the Middle East and North Africa. Al Awadhi's extensive experience, spanning over 25 years in both public and private sectors, focuses on consumer protection and service quality.
Her career includes significant roles such as Head of the Market Conduct and Financial Consumer Protection Department, where she contributed to enhancing regulatory frameworks. Additionally, she has held positions like Head of Planning and Operational Support, Vice President of Service Quality Administration, and Corporate Communications.

Al Awadhi's leadership extends to her involvement with the Board of Directors for Sanadak since its inception. Her participation in various local, regional, and international committees underscores her commitment to financial consumer protection. She is also a member of FinCoNet under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Currently, Al Awadhi chairs the National Working Group for Financial Consumer Protection and Financial Literacy. Her educational background includes a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Law from Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, Paris. She also holds several certifications in governance, compliance, leadership, and risk management.
Her appointment aligns with Sanadak’s mission to ensure fairness in resolving banking and insurance disputes within the UAE. This move supports CBUAE’s strategy to enhance consumer protection and promote financial inclusion across the nation.
