Careem, the multifaceted platform known for its ride-hailing services, has recently expanded the offerings of its fintech arm, Careem Pay, by introducing a feature that significantly benefits its Careem Plus subscribers.

This feature specifically targets international money transfers, enabling subscribers to enjoy exclusive exchange rates and the elimination of fees on such transactions. This initiative underscores Careem's dedication to enhancing customer experiences through innovative solutions that simplify everyday tasks.

For individuals sending money internationally, particularly to countries like India and Pakistan, Careem Pay presents an attractive proposition. The platform not only promises better rates than those found on Google but also ensures near-instantaneous transfers.

To access these exclusive rates and benefits for international money transfers, new and existing users need simply to download the Careem app and navigate to the "Send Money" option on the home screen. This straightforward process is indicative of Careem's commitment to user-friendly services, allowing subscribers to quickly and efficiently manage their international financial transactions without the need for complicated procedures.

Currently, users in the UAE can send money to destinations including the UK, Europe, Lebanon, the Philippines, India, and Pakistan. Careem Pay is looking forward to expanding its reach to cover more countries. The service allows for a generous monthly transfer limit of up to AED 450,000, with a per-transaction cap of AED 150,000, ensuring that users can send substantial amounts quickly, with the app boasting its fastest transfer recorded at just 11 seconds.

Mohamed Al Saadi, Vice President of Careem Pay, highlighted the financial burden that traditional international money transfer channels impose on users, citing high fees and unfavorable exchange rates as significant hurdles. "International money transfers through traditional channels are usually expensive due to high fees and exchange rates. Therefore, by canceling the fixed fees, we seek to enhance the benefits of Careem Plus subscribers, enabling them to save more, support their families more, and manage their expenses and investments abroad in the best possible way," Al Saadi explains.

The Careem Plus subscription, priced at just AED 19 per month, already offers a suite of benefits that significantly outweigh the cost. Subscribers can take advantage of unlimited free deliveries on food and grocery orders, earn cashback on monthly rides, and receive discounts on various services, including home cleaning and Careem Bike.

The addition of the international transfer feature allows subscribers to further maximize their savings, contributing to Careem’s goal of providing value that far exceeds the subscription fee.

One noteworthy aspect of Careem's offerings is the tangible savings subscribers can achieve. For instance, in 2024, a subscriber managed to save over AED 12,000 throughout the year, while another enjoyed a substantial saving of more than AED 7,300 on a single dinner bill that exceeded AED 25,000.
