Care ESG Awards 2025 Highlights Regional Sustainability Achievements Across MENA
The CARE ESG Awards by Trescon and ESG Mena honoured leading organisations and individuals across the Middle East and North Africa for contributions to sustainability, clean energy, climate resilience, and responsible growth, with winners spanning finance, energy, healthcare, education, mobility, technology, and industrial sectors.
Held during the inaugural Climate Action, Renewable Energy & Sustainability Forum, CARE 2025, the awards highlighted measurable progress in environmental stewardship, renewable energy deployment, resource efficiency, social value creation, and transparent governance, positioning the programme as a regional reference point for climate action and ESG performance.

“The CARE ESG Awards spotlighted initiatives that exemplify innovation, transparency, and measurable outcomes, setting a benchmark for sustainability, social responsibility, and climate excellence in the region,” said Naveen Bharadwaj, Group CEO, Trescon, congratulating winners for advancing low-carbon, sustainable, and responsible economic growth across MENA.
Sal Jafar, CEO, ESG Mena, said the ceremony, attended by policymakers, enterprises, innovators, investors, and sustainability stakeholders, underscored the growing prominence of ESG practices in shaping MENA’s economic, environmental, and social development. Fifteen award categories reflected core pillars of ongoing sustainability efforts and institutional change.

“GEMS Education is honoured to receive the Education ESG Program Award, a recognition of our commitment to embedding sustainability and responsible practices across both our learning environments and operations,” said Yohaan Cama, Head of Corporate Sustainability, with Deputy CEO Jay Verkey highlighting ambitions for future-ready education in the region.
Riyad Bank described its Impact Finance Award as reflecting tangible progress toward a more sustainable and resilient financial sector, while Burjeel Medical City CEO Dr. Mujtaba Ali Khan said the Green Health Award reaffirmed the group’s support for the UAE’s sustainability agenda and net-zero objectives.
Commenting on AGSI’s Best ESG Industrial Program Award, Founder and CEO Asam Hussain said low-carbon steel had become central to regional development plans and that independent verification of emissions performance was influencing expectations in a hard-to-abate sector, noting it was the company’s third recognition in a single month.
Beyond the ceremony, participants noted that the CARE ESG Awards encouraged dialogue, collaboration, and practical ESG alignment among regional stakeholders, reinforcing their shared aim of turning sustainability ambitions into demonstrable competitive advantage and shaping the Middle East and North Africa’s long-term ESG agenda.
