The agreement was formalised by Tareq Abdul Rahim Al Hosani, Chairman of Calidus, and Bon Sang Koo, Chairman of LIG Group, during the Dubai Airshow 2025, held from 17-21 November 2025.
The joint venture will focus on developing advanced air defence systems and establishing production lines. It aligns with the UAE's 'We the UAE 2031' vision to enhance local defence manufacturing. The partnership also aims to nurture local engineering talent, contributing to the UAE's national strategy.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed to explore future cooperation in air defence systems. This includes multi-layered air defence systems, enhanced C2 systems, radars, and next-generation solutions. The MoU signifies both parties' intent to deepen their collaboration in these areas.
Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus Holding Group, stated: "This joint venture marks a pivotal step in advancing the UAE’s defence manufacturing capabilities and strengthening our global partnerships. By combining Calidus’ vision and industrial expertise with LIG Nex1’s proven technologies, we are laying the foundation for a new era of localised, high efficient defence solutions."
