Calidus Launches First Integrated Multi-Layered Emirati Solution For Countering Drones

Calidus Holding Group, a prominent player in defence and manufacturing, has unveiled the UAE's first integrated counter-drone defence system named "DAMITA." This multi-layered solution is optimised for AI and swarm drone defence. Developed entirely in the UAE, DAMITA offers comprehensive protection for cities, borders, bases, and critical sites through its AI-driven command and control software.

The DAMITA system integrates autonomous and layered C-UAS capabilities from detection to defeat. It employs an AI-driven command and control (C2) software core to provide timely responses. Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus Holding Group, stated, "With DAMITA, we are not simply introducing a new solution, we are demonstrating Calidus’ role as a true system integrator."

Calidus Unveils New Counter-Drone System

This innovative system combines advanced radar, full-spectrum RF scanners, and EO/IR sensors with AI algorithms. These technologies enable precise detection and differentiation between drones and birds. The system also incorporates electronic jamming, high-energy lasers, and advanced air-burst interceptors to effectively counter mass and swarm drone attacks.

DAMITA offers both hard kill and soft kill capabilities for thorough threat mitigation. It uses airburst rounds and high-energy laser weapons to neutralise large-scale threats like swarm drone attacks. Additionally, it employs precision directional jamming to ensure safe operation in urban settings without causing collateral damage.

The system's operational features include an interception rate of 20 drones per minute. Its battery-powered laser weapon provides instant response capabilities anytime and anywhere. Moreover, the On-the-Move (OTM) functionality allows seamless detection and engagement of threats.

Strategic Vision for Defence

Dr. Alblooshi highlighted that this achievement reflects Calidus' strategic vision to offer mission-ready solutions combining innovation, autonomy, and scalability. He added that these solutions ensure partners can respond decisively to evolving drone threats across critical environments.

The introduction of DAMITA comes as the drone threat landscape undergoes rapid transformation due to artificial intelligence advancements. Drones are evolving into sophisticated systems capable of complex tasks such as self-navigation in jammed environments and precision targeting.

This next-generation system is poised to become a crucial asset in future warfare scenarios by providing robust protection against emerging threats. By unifying detection, command and control, and layered defeat technologies into a single AI-driven architecture, Calidus delivers a fully integrated defence capability developed entirely in the UAE.
