UAE Cabinet Reshuffle: Ahmed Al Sayegh Takes Role As Minister Of Health
Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a cabinet reshuffle has been announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. This reshuffle includes significant changes in the UAE's ministerial positions.
Ahmed Al Sayegh has been appointed as the new Minister of Health and Prevention. AbdulRahman bin Mohamed Al Owais will continue his service as Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs. "Under the directives and blessing of the President of the UAE, we announce today the appointment of Ahmed Al Sayegh as Minister of Health in the United Arab Emirates," stated H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

Al Sayegh has a rich history in leadership roles within both public and private sectors across the UAE. He previously served as Chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Aldar Properties, and Masdar. Additionally, he was a board member at Etihad Airways Group and Mubadala Investment Company.
In his previous role since September 2018, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh was Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He managed economic and commercial affairs, focusing on economic diversification strategies. His efforts also included strengthening bilateral relations with Asian countries and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members.
Al Sayegh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lewis & Clark College in the United States. Besides his ministerial duties, he is involved with several organisations. He is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and serves as Vice Chairman of Emirates Nature–WWF.
He also plays a pivotal role as Co-Chair of the UAE-UK Business Council. Furthermore, he is a board member at Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD). These roles highlight his extensive involvement in various strategic initiatives within the UAE.
Acknowledging Past Contributions
The reshuffle acknowledges AbdulRahman Al Owais's contributions to healthcare advancements during his tenure. "We extend our sincere appreciation to AbdulRahman Al Owais for his dedicated service to the Ministry of Health over the past years," expressed H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
AbdulRahman Al Owais will continue contributing to national affairs in his role related to Federal National Council Affairs. The leadership wishes success to both ministers in their respective roles while expressing gratitude to all national teams across the UAE.
