Bybit And DMCC Celebrate 5 Innovative Blockchain Projects At MENA's Largest Web3 Hackathon

In Dubai, the recent Web3 Unleashed hackathon, hosted by Bybit in partnership with DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) Crypto Centre, marked a significant milestone for Web3 technology in the MENA region.

On Nov. 20, this event brought together fifteen innovative project teams who shared their revolutionary ideas with a panel of experts and notable figures from the crypto world. This gathering, which also attracted more than 30,000 viewers online, showcased the promising future of blockchain technology across various sectors.

Winners of MENA s Largest Web3 Hackathon Announced

The hackathon was not just about competition; it was a full-day celebration of Web3 technology's possibilities, culminating in an afterparty. Attendees engaged in deep discussions about the future applications of blockchain, further emphasizing its capability to disrupt and enhance multiple industries. This event underscored the growing importance of Web3 and blockchain as transformative tools for global innovation.

Helen Liu, Chief Operating Officer of Bybit, expressed gratitude towards DMCC and all partners involved, highlighting the collective effort to promote blockchain technology for positive change. The hackathon, now in its second iteration, has established itself as the leading Web3 hackathon in the region. This year, it spotlighted five exceptional projects that promise to tackle real-world issues through cutting-edge technology. These winners were chosen from a global pool of innovators:

1. KelpMe from the USA, UAE, and Greece, developed a blockchain solution to counter the loss of private keys and misdirected transactions, facilitating asset recovery without prior backup steps.

2. South Korea and Singapore's Trepa, a Telegram app powered by TON, which enables users to predict and align with majority opinions to earn rewards.

3. The Mavryk Network, spanning Dubai, Gibraltar, Singapore, Paris, and Kiev, aims to redefine asset ownership and tokenization using a Layer 1 blockchain.

4. Hive, from Abu Dhabi and Belgium, proposed a model for sharing computer resources, leveraging home GPUs to democratize tech access.

5. Turkey's Poppin, a browser extension turning webpages into social hubs for real-time interaction among users.

These innovative projects reflect the hackathon's focus on using blockchain for practical and impactful solutions, further cementing Web3's role in addressing societal and economic challenges.

The victorious teams not only walked away with a share of the 160,000 USDT prize pool but also gained unparalleled exposure in the burgeoning crypto hub of MENA. This exposure, coupled with the chance to engage with leading industry figures, provides a strong foundation for their future endeavors.
