Burjeel Holdings Secures NIHS Accreditation For Internal Medicine And General Surgery Residency Programmes

Burjeel Holdings has achieved accreditation from the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) for its residency programmes in Internal Medicine and General Surgery. This recognition complements the Group's existing accredited programmes in Orthopedics and the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship, enhancing its specialised medical education offerings.

The introduction of post-graduate residency and fellowship programmes in four major medical fields marks a significant development for Burjeel Holdings. These initiatives demonstrate the Group's dedication to cultivating future healthcare professionals and positioning the UAE as a leader in world-class medical training.

Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani, Secretary-General of NIHS, expressed that these new programmes align with NIHS's vision to bolster postgraduate medical education in the UAE. He stated, "The addition of these residency and fellowship programmes reflects the NIHS vision to strengthen postgraduate medical education in the UAE. By working with partners such as Burjeel Holdings, we are creating structured pathways to train highly skilled specialists who will contribute significantly to the nation’s healthcare ecosystem."

The training for these programmes will take place at Burjeel Medical City (BMC), Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and Burjeel Royal Hospital in Al Ain. Six hospitals under Burjeel Holdings have been recognised by NIHS and DOH as teaching hospitals. The new programmes have also secured accreditation recently.
