Broaden Energy To Build AED 455 Million Facility In KEZAD For Renewable Energy Solutions

Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group and Broaden Energy have signed a 50-year land lease to build a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in KEZAD Area A, known as KEZAD Al Ma’mourah. This agreement was formalised during the fourth Make it in the Emirates (MIITE) event in Abu Dhabi. The project is part of Broaden Energy's expansion into local hydrogen generation, refueling, and storage systems.

Broaden Energy, based in the UAE, has allocated AED455 million for an 80,000 square metre facility. This site will focus on sustainable solutions using renewable energy sources like hydrogen, solar, and wind power. The new facility in KEZAD is expected to generate approximately 1,000 direct permanent jobs. This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's economic diversification goals by promoting renewable energy expertise and innovation.

Broaden Energy Announces KEZAD Facility Plans

The collaboration with Broaden Energy highlights KEZAD's dedication to fostering manufacturing advancements within the renewable energy sector. Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO of Economic Cities and Free Zones, stated that renewable energy is vital for diversifying Abu Dhabi’s energy mix for economic growth. He emphasised that this partnership supports the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 for net zero emissions by expanding renewable energy opportunities in KEZAD.

Adnan Sokolija, CEO of Broaden Energy, remarked that the agreement with KEZAD is crucial for their expansion plans. He noted their commitment to developing advanced solutions that align with national manufacturing initiatives and contribute to Abu Dhabi’s clean energy development. The facility will be the first of its kind in the region, marking a significant step forward for Broaden Energy.

This project represents the initial phase of Broaden Energy’s new manufacturing complex announced last year with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED). By investing in renewable energy, KEZAD plays a key role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification objectives through strategic partnerships.

In conclusion, this collaboration between KEZAD and Broaden Energy underscores a shared commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions in line with national goals. The establishment of this facility not only enhances local capabilities but also contributes significantly to sustainable industrial growth in the UAE.
