Nahla Al Fahad Unveils 'Voice of the Waves'

Voice of the Waves follows fisherwomen in Rameshwaram, India, and Jaffna, Sri Lanka. These women have lost their husbands and now bear the responsibility of supporting their families amidst challenging ecological and civil conditions. The Indian Ocean is depicted as a symbol of motherhood and strength, representing both connection and separation.

During the press conference, Al Fahad shared her creative vision for the film. She stated that it "seeks to reveal the truth of a world in which the destinies of women intersect despite their differing realities." Her work demonstrates how human stories can transcend geography when told with honesty and awareness.

The documentary is produced in collaboration with Seven Triple Media and Studios Beyond. Jibin Jose co-directs and leads research efforts. Cinematography is managed by K. S. Sreen Lal, while Dr. Rajesh James oversees creative direction. The project benefits from technical support from international partners like Sony Middle East, Sennheiser Middle East, and Zeiss Middle East.

Sony Middle East provided two Sony Venice 2 cameras for filming. Sennheiser Middle East supplied professional audio equipment, while Zeiss Middle East contributed Nano Prime lenses to support production quality. Two shooting schedules are complete, with ten more planned before its expected completion in 2027.

Bridge Summit's Commitment to Storytelling

The unveiling of Voice of the Waves at Bridge Summit highlights its dedication to creating a space where stories foster trust and offer new perspectives on societal content today. The film exemplifies storytelling that goes beyond visual appeal to deliver profound messages about human connection through media.

This documentary stands as a testament to media's essential role in fostering human connections rather than merely serving as an economic industry.
