Big Heart Foundation Calls For Community Support For Over 20,000 Orphans In Gaza
The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) has renewed its appeal for support, urging individuals and organisations to join the 'For Gaza' campaign. This initiative, in collaboration with the Palestinian Taawon Welfare Association, aims to provide long-term assistance to over 20,000 orphaned children in Gaza. It focuses on ensuring access to education, healthcare, psychological support, and essential needs.
At a recent charity Suhoor held at the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park, philanthropists, business leaders, and humanitarian organisations gathered to mobilise resources for the campaign. The event featured panel discussions and keynote speeches that emphasised the importance of collective action in addressing the crisis. An art exhibition by University of Sharjah students raised AED90,000 to support Gaza’s orphaned children.

Dr. Tareq Emtairah, Director General of Taawon Welfare Association, underscored the organisation's crucial role in implementing initiatives in Gaza. He highlighted that their partnership with TBHF exemplifies a leading model for unifying humanitarian efforts. "Drawing on our extensive experience in implementing effective development and humanitarian programmes," he stated, "we at Taawon have developed the ‘Noor’ programme." This comprehensive initiative supports orphans in Gaza and builds on past experiences with the ‘Wajd’ and ‘Mustaqbali’ initiatives from 2009 and 2014.
Ms. Alya Obaid Al Musaiebi, Director of TBHF, opened the Suhoor with a speech about the "Salam Ya Seghar" campaign launched 17 years ago by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. This was TBHF's first initiative aimed at Palestinian children. She said: "Today, this commitment remains strong, reflected in real, tangible actions that restore hope to every child who has lost their family and dreams amidst the devastation of war and suffering."
Al Musaiebi further explained TBHF's policy of not deducting administrative fees from donations or Zakat funds: "We believe that every dirham contributed by generous donors should reach those in need in its entirety." This principle is rooted in their humanitarian values inspired by faith and reinforced by wise leadership vision.
Hind Al Huwaidi from BEEAH Group highlighted the private sector's strategic role in supporting humanitarian efforts during the event. She stressed that collaboration between charitable organisations and businesses serves as an effective model for unifying efforts. This approach expands impact while contributing to sustainable community development.
Donation Channels for Wider Participation
The campaign offers various donation channels to facilitate participation. Contributions can be made via bank transfers through Sharjah Islamic Bank (Account: 0011-430430-002), cheque payments to The Big Heart Foundation headquarters, cash donations at TBHF offices or online contributions via https://tbhf.ae/ramadan-2025. SMS donations are also possible through +971505350152.
"As the people of Gaza endure immense hardship," Al Musaiebi continued, "we remain committed to our mission." She emphasised that generosity knows no time limits; it only grows stronger as needs intensify. Every contribution carries within it a promise of a new beginning for a child awaiting hope.
This campaign reaffirms TBHF's dedication to creating lasting impact through strategic partnerships like those with Taawon Welfare Association. Together they aim to provide comprehensive support ensuring orphans have stable environments conducive to personal development while actively contributing back into their communities.
