Bayanat And Vay Collaborate To Expand Teledriving Solutions In Middle East, Africa, And Asia Pacific
Bayanat and Vay have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance teledriving technology using geospatial data and AI. This collaboration aims to introduce teledriving solutions across the Middle East, Africa, and selected Asia Pacific regions. The partnership will also establish a joint research and development arm focused on advancing safe autonomous technology.
Vay's innovative technology enables remote driving by trained professionals, allowing vehicles to be driven to customers' locations. Once the vehicle arrives, users can drive it manually like any regular car. After completing their journey, users can end the rental via an app without worrying about parking, as a teledriver manages this task.

Bayanat’s smart mobility solutions are powered by its AI-enabled platform, GIQ. This platform integrates data from both space and ground assets to aid decision-making, enhance situational awareness, and boost operational efficiency. Bayanat’s AI insights will improve the remote experience for Vay’s trained teledrivers.
The collaboration leverages Bayanat’s operational infrastructure and AI capabilities alongside Vay’s expertise in teledriving. This synergy aims to drive advancements in autonomous vehicles globally while addressing the increasing demand for advanced mobility solutions.
Vay stands out as the first company in Europe to operate on public roads without a safety driver. In January 2024, Vay launched its commercial teledriving service in Las Vegas, marking a significant milestone in teledriven cars. Their technology optimises electric fleet usage, potentially reducing the number of cars on roads.
Hasan Al Hosani, Managing Director of Bayanat, stated that their collaboration with Vay will help tackle challenges in teledriving and set innovation standards in the industry. "By combining our AI-powered smart mobility solutions with Vay’s cutting-edge teledriving technology," he said, "we aim to deliver advanced, scalable mobility solutions that enhance transportation efficiency."
Future of Autonomous Vehicles
Thomas von der Ohe, co-founder and CEO of Vay, expressed enthusiasm about working with Bayanat. He highlighted that teledriving significantly enhances cost-effectiveness for fleet operations. "Coupled with Bayanat’s AI-powered platform," he noted, "we can further advance the implementation of teledriving beyond current use cases."
This partnership is committed to creating safer and more sustainable urban environments through innovative mobility solutions. By integrating advanced technologies from both companies, they aim to foster safer urban mobility experiences while enhancing transportation efficiency.
