Autogo Initiates RoboTaxi Trials In Abu Dhabi Ahead Of Full Service Launch In 2026

Autogo, a company in the UAE under Kintsugi Holding, has started trials for its RoboTaxi service in Abu Dhabi. The aim is to begin full operations by 2026. This initiative is part of a strategic collaboration with Apollo Go, Baidu's autonomous mobility arm, which is renowned for its large-scale self-driving transport solutions.

The trials are being conducted with the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of Abu Dhabi. This ensures that the service aligns with local transport strategies and regulatory requirements. The goal is to enhance smart mobility within the emirate by integrating next-generation technologies into its infrastructure.

Autogo Begins RoboTaxi Trials in Abu Dhabi

RoboTaxis are designed to provide a seamless transportation experience for modern cities. These vehicles use advanced electric designs and AI-driven systems to ensure precise driving and real-time responsiveness to their surroundings. They aim to meet the needs of urban residents effectively.

The vision behind Autogo's RoboTaxi extends beyond simplifying transportation. It aims to improve road safety by minimising human errors in driving. Additionally, being fully electric, these vehicles offer a sustainable option that reduces emissions and traffic congestion, contributing to the future of smart cities.

The RT6 RoboTaxi represents the sixth generation of autonomous ride-hailing vehicles. It features a design focused on safety, intelligence, and comfort. Apollo Go was the first in China to offer fully autonomous ride-hailing services and continues to integrate AI, big data, and automation for developing future smart cities.

Apollo Go's platform, also known as Luobo Kuaipao, has become a leader in autonomous ride-hailing globally. By March 2025, its fleets had logged over 150 million kilometres of autonomous driving with more than 10 million ride orders completed safely.

Strategic Goals and Future Plans

Sean Teo, Managing Director of Kintsugi Holding, stated that launching RoboTaxi trials in Abu Dhabi signifies a major shift in urban mobility. "RoboTaxis serve two key goals — enhancing road safety and achieving more sustainable transportation," he said.

Teo added that Autogo will collaborate with Apollo Go to test performance in real-world conditions. They plan to engage with the public while preparing for broader deployment across Abu Dhabi by 2026.

This partnership between Autogo and Apollo Go aims to bring cutting-edge mobility technologies to Abu Dhabi's streets. It reflects an effort towards creating smarter urban environments through innovative transportation solutions.
