AUS Introduces Rashid Bin Humaid Athletic Scholarship Fund To Support Student-Athletes

The American University of Sharjah (AUS) has launched its first sports scholarship, the Rashid Bin Humaid Athletic Scholarship Fund. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS, expressed that the scholarship fund demonstrates their commitment to developing well-rounded individuals who excel in academics and sports. AUS Launches New Athletic Scholarship Fund

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, highlighted the importance of the scholarship fund in helping students achieve their goals. "This grant aims to establish an AED 5 million fund to support students with exceptional sports abilities and academic excellence," he said. He emphasised that institutions play a crucial role in empowering talented student-athletes by providing financial assistance.

Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, noted the significant impact of this scholarship on fostering a strong sports culture at the university.
