Arada Partners With Big Heart Foundation And UNHCR For Fourth Home For A Home Campaign In Chad
Arada, in collaboration with The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), is relaunching its 'Home for a Home' initiative. This year, the programme aims to build homes for up to 4,000 refugees in Chad. For every house sold during Ramadan in Arada's projects, a home will be provided to a refugee family. Chad, hosting over a million refugees, is the focus of this year's efforts.
In eastern Chad, where violence has displaced over 750,000 people from Sudan since April 2023, Arada and its partners will construct homes. These homes will accommodate Sudanese families of four and include essential facilities like water and sanitation. Additionally, an emergency water system will be developed to aid 30,000 individuals in local refugee settlements.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, highlighted the initiative's growth since its 2022 inception. "Home for a Home has grown every year since its inception in 2022," he stated. The aim is to expand globally by introducing new countries and methods to assist communities in need. Over 2,000 homes have been committed across various regions over four years.
The initiative aligns with Arada's dedication to sustainable development and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It demonstrates how businesses can contribute significantly to societal well-being and environmental sustainability through strategic partnerships.
Alya Al Musaiebi from TBHF expressed pride in partnering again with Arada and UNHCR for this cause. "The ‘Home for a Home’ initiative exemplifies the power of collaborative humanitarian efforts," she said. The campaign in Chad aims to provide dignity and security for families who have faced severe hardships.
Khaled Khalifa from UNHCR emphasised the importance of collaboration for long-term impact. "This partnership underscores the power of collaboration in driving long term impact," he noted. By extending the initiative to Chad, vulnerable communities gain access to necessary resources for rebuilding their lives.
Previous Achievements
'Home for a Home' began in 2022 and has committed to building 2,105 houses across Kenya, Syria, and Chad. So far, 757 homes have been completed. In Kenya's Kakuma refugee camp, completed water infrastructure benefits over 43,000 people.
Since its start, Arada has worked closely with TBHF as its main corporate social responsibility partner. Together with UNHCR since 2022, they have supported vulnerable children and families globally through initiatives like 'Home for a Home'.
This ongoing commitment highlights the potential impact of collaborative humanitarian efforts on global displacement issues. By providing essential shelter and resources, these partnerships offer hope and stability to those affected by conflict.
