Arada Secures AED 145 Million Contract To Develop Sports Park In Aljada, Sharjah

Arada has secured a contract worth AED145 million to develop a sports complex within its AED35 billion Aljada megaproject in Sharjah. This facility will be situated in a 400,000 square foot landscaped park and will feature various sports amenities. The project aims to enhance the community's lifestyle by providing diverse recreational options.

The sports complex will include a full-size football pitch, smaller 5-a-side pitches, and courts for basketball, padel tennis, volleyball, squash, and badminton. Additionally, there will be cycling and jogging tracks alongside adventure play areas for children. These facilities are designed to cater to both residents and visitors seeking an active lifestyle.

Beyond the sports amenities, the complex will offer a water play area and two food and beverage outlets. Among these is the Reformatory Lab, an Australian coffee brand recently introduced to the UAE. Changing rooms and public amenities will also be available for convenience.

To facilitate easy access for sports enthusiasts, two full floors of parking will be constructed beneath the complex. This parking provision aims to accommodate the growing number of visitors to Aljada's rapidly expanding community.

Civic Builders Trading & Contracting LLC, based in Dubai, has been awarded the construction contract. Work on-site has already commenced with completion expected by the end of 2026. This timeline aligns with Arada's commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure promptly.

The main sports complex is part of Aljada's extensive offerings that include a futuristic business park, Madar Mall retail and entertainment hub, and a cultural centre designed by Tadao Ando. These facilities aim to transform Aljada into a premier destination in Sharjah.

Aljada spans over 24 million square feet and features 25,000 homes. It integrates residential districts with retail, hospitality, entertainment, sporting, educational, healthcare components within a green urban master plan. This comprehensive approach ensures a balanced living environment for its residents.

The current population at Aljada has reached 20,000 due to the handover of 7,500 homes. An additional 2,000 homes are under construction as part of ongoing development efforts. Completed projects include phases of Madar family entertainment district and SABIS International School-Aljada.

The Nest student housing complex is also operational along with various shopping, dining, sports and leisure facilities. These developments contribute significantly to making Aljada an attractive place for both living and visiting.
