Arab Parliament Affirms Commitment To Palestinian Cause As Top Priority For Arab Nations
Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker for the Arab Parliament, emphasised that the Palestinian issue remains a top priority for the Arab Parliament. He assured that efforts will persist to help Palestinians achieve their legitimate rights, particularly establishing an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Al Yamahi highlighted that the Palestinian cause is deeply embedded in the Arab conscience, extending beyond mere territorial disputes. This statement was made during his leadership of the first meeting of the Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament's fourth legislative term at the Arab League General Secretariat headquarters.

The Arab Parliament is actively monitoring developments in occupied Palestinian territories. Al Yamahi explained that this issue is not just about land but resonates deeply within the Arab world. The Parliament has taken urgent steps to communicate with regional and international parliamentary organisations.
Through official letters and diplomatic channels, they urge these bodies to pressure the occupying entity to cease its aggression. They also aim to stop attempts to hinder the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Al Yamahi reiterated full support for efforts by Arab countries to defend Palestinian rights.
He called on international donor institutions to provide additional humanitarian aid urgently. This assistance is crucial to alleviate Palestinian suffering caused by daily acts of terrorism from the occupying entity. The Arab Parliament remains committed to supporting all initiatives championing Palestinian rights.
