Arab Parliament Calls On International Community To Support Palestinian Rights And Humanitarian Aid

The Arab Parliament has once again urged the global community to fulfil its legal and humanitarian duties. It calls for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted aid access, and international protection for Palestinians in all occupied regions. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yammahi, President of the Arab Parliament, emphasised the need for concrete actions from the United Nations and other international bodies to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing actions.

Al-Yammahi highlighted that the observance of the 48th International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People occurs amid severe humanitarian and political challenges. These challenges arise from Israel's continued aggression in Gaza, escalating attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and acts such as siege, displacement, and systematic violations against Palestinians. He described these acts as war crimes and genocide.

Arab Parliament Urges Support for Palestinians

Al-Yammahi called on international organisations to support efforts aimed at establishing a fully sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that Israel's actions violate the Sharm El Sheikh Agreement through ongoing military operations, blocking humanitarian aid, expanding settlements, and allowing settler militias to attack Palestinian civilians. These actions defy international agreements and UN resolutions.

The Arab Parliament President underscored that the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is more than symbolic. It reaffirms a steadfast Arab and global commitment to support the Palestinian cause. This includes enhancing parliamentary and diplomatic efforts to alleviate Palestinian suffering and backing their just cause until they achieve all legitimate rights.

Al-Yammahi urged the United Nations to take decisive steps to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing crimes. He also called for support in establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The statement was made on a day marking solidarity with Palestinians amid dangerous circumstances due to Israeli aggression.

This observance comes at a time when Israel continues its grave violations by preventing humanitarian aid entry, intensifying settlement activities, and allowing settler militias' attacks on civilians. These actions are seen as blatant defiance of international agreements and UN resolutions.

The Arab Parliament reiterated its call for immediate action from the international community to ensure a comprehensive ceasefire and secure unrestricted aid flow. Al-Yammahi's statement highlights the urgent need for global intervention to protect Palestinians in all occupied territories.
