Ammar Bin Humaid Explores Innovations At Changan Automobile And Sanfeng Environment In China
H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, recently visited the Changan Automobile R&D Centre in Chongqing. This visit was part of his official tour to China. During his time there, he learned about Changan's latest advancements in smart mobility, technological innovation, and low-carbon vehicle manufacturing.
Changan Automobile executives shared their strategic vision with H.H. Sheikh Ammar, aiming to become a global leader in intelligent mobility. They highlighted their extensive R&D network comprising 16 centres and 180 laboratories, supported by a multinational team from 31 countries. The company also showcased its Smart Battery Management System, which holds 392 patents.
Sheikh Ammar praised Changan’s efforts towards intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions. He noted that these initiatives align with China's advanced industrial and technological capabilities. "Ajman is committed to strengthening collaboration with global leaders in innovation and industry," said H.H. Sheikh Ammar. "We admire Changan’s ambitious global expansion strategy."
The Crown Prince was accompanied by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Tourism Development Department; Sheikh Rashid bin Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of Ajman Sports Club; and other senior government officials from Ajman. Their visit reflects Ajman's strategy to explore economic cooperation with global industrial powerhouses.
In addition to visiting Changan Automobile, H.H. Sheikh Ammar toured the Chongqing Sanfeng Environment Group Corp., Ltd., a leading waste-to-energy facility in China. The company is renowned for its advanced technical standards in converting waste into clean energy. Senior officials presented their capabilities, including processing over 3,000 tonnes of municipal waste daily.
The facility utilises thermal energy from waste to generate clean electricity connected to the national grid. Sheikh Ammar explored their advanced environmental treatment systems like acid gas removal and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for nitrogen oxide reduction. The dual dust removal system ensures emissions remain below global standards.
Technological Advancements at Sanfeng
H.H. Sheikh Ammar was briefed on Sanfeng's distributed control system (DCS) and smart crane technology incorporating LiDAR, 3D scanning, and IoT for optimised operations with minimal human intervention. "We were impressed by the integrated infrastructure and pioneering technology at the company," stated H.H. Sheikh Ammar.
"Ajman values partnerships with global leaders in the energy and environmental sectors," he added. "Sanfeng Environment's experience is an inspiring example that can inform our sustainable development efforts in the UAE and across the region." This visit underscores Ajman's commitment to identifying investment opportunities in future-centric sectors.
Changan Automobile manages several prominent brands such as DEEPAL, AVATR, and Changan Ford. The company employs over 82,000 people globally and operates a sales network spanning more than 9,000 locations worldwide.
