Amazon And UAE Food Bank Collaborate To Deliver Iftar Meals Across The UAE
Amazon UAE, in collaboration with the UAE Food Bank, has initiated the 2024 edition of 'Iftar on Wheels', a charitable programme aiming to support thousands of families during the Holy Month of Ramadan. This partnership, now in its fourth year, will utilise Amazon's extensive operations network and technological capabilities to distribute iftar meals across the Emirates, benefiting numerous underprivileged families.
The 'Iftar on Wheels' initiative will see Amazon leveraging its delivery and operational teams to distribute 50,000 kilograms of food this year. The program will provide a mix of grocery supplies and fresh meals, ensuring their safe and timely delivery to those in need throughout the UAE. Over the past four years, Amazon has contributed to the provision of millions of meals to underserved UAE communities.

Additionally, Amazon's 'Iftar on Wheels' 2024 will spark a company-wide employee volunteering initiative, creating over 1,200 opportunities for staff to engage in community support activities throughout the year. This program is expected to activate the largest volunteer group to date, who will assist in packing and delivery efforts.
Manal Bin Yaroof, Executive Director of the UAE Food Bank, highlighted the importance of such collaborations in promoting social responsibility and volunteerism. Through Amazon's logistical expertise and scale, the partnership aims to reach a wide array of underprivileged people during Ramadan, contributing significantly to the reduction of food waste in the country.
