Algeria, Britain Clinch Top Spots At Nad Al Sheba Cycling Tournament

The 11th Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, a highlight of the Ramadan sports calendar in Dubai, has seen impressive performances across various categories, with cyclists from Algeria and Great Britain taking top honors in their respective races. The event, held at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, showcases athletes' "Limitless Capabilities" in line with its slogan for the year.

Hamza Yacine of Algeria emerged victorious in the Open Men’s category, showcasing his skill and determination. He was closely followed by Essaid Abdelloucache of Morocco, securing the second spot, while Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutaiwei from the UAE completed the podium with a commendable third-place finish.

Top Wins for Algeria, Britain in Cycling

In the Senior Men’s category, it was Great Britain's John Shaun Carey who stole the show with a strategic late break to win. Belgian cyclist Bart Van Den Dries finished a close second, and Nouredine Haouchine of Algeria rounded off the top three with a strong performance.

The People of Determination races also highlighted the competitive spirit and talent among participants. Abdulla Saleh Al Blooshi triumphed in Category C, demonstrating exceptional prowess to clinch the top spot. Ahmed Mohamed Saif Al Bedwawi and Salim Juma Salem Al Jneibi followed in second and third places, respectively.

Sami Salim Said Al Sulaimi shone brightly in the People of Determination Class H race, outperforming his competitors Ayed Ali Ayed and Saeed Rashed Al Dhaheri, who finished second and third. Meanwhile, Abdul Rehman Al Bastaki secured a win in the T&B category for People of Determination, with Ahmed Saeed Al Naqbi trailing behind.

The tournament enjoys the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. It is part of a broader initiative under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, to promote sports and physical activity during Ramadan.

This year's edition features nine different sports disciplines including Volleyball, Padel, Jiu-Jitsu, Fencing, Wheelchair Basketball, Road Race, Cycling, Tug-of-War, and an Obstacle Challenge Race. The event underscores Dubai's commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture and providing athletes with a platform to showcase their skills.

The cycling races have once again highlighted the international appeal and competitive nature of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament. As it moves towards its conclusion with the final volleyball competition on 31st March, participants and spectators alike look forward to more thrilling performances.
