ALC's Scientific Committee Discusses Enhancing Arabic Content And Research Through AI Technology

The Scientific Committee of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) recently held its third meeting this year. The focus was on leveraging technological advancements and artificial intelligence to enhance Arabic content and scientific research. Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, led the discussion, highlighting the need for AI to improve Arabic content's quality and accuracy in the digital space.

The committee's recommendations included using AI technologies to elevate the status of the Arabic language online. They suggested mechanisms to boost scholarly publications in Arabic and support peer-reviewed journals like 'The Journal of Arab Studies.' These efforts aim to strengthen global recognition and accessibility through international research centres.

Expanding partnerships with global publishers and cultural institutions was also emphasised. This initiative aims to foster cultural exchange and knowledge sharing while utilising modern technology for producing and distributing Arabic content. Participation in international cultural events focused on education and skill development was deemed crucial.

The committee comprises renowned scientists, experts, and intellectuals from various fields globally. Members include Dr. Abdulla al Ghathami, Dr. Ahmed Khrais, Dr. Ali al Kaabi, Dr. Bilal Orfalli, Dr. Hanada Taha, Dr. Mohamed Abouelfadl Badran, Dr. Mohsin al Musawi, Dr. Vitaly Naumkin, and Dr. Wen-Chin Ouyang.

Strategic Planning and Recommendations

This committee acts as a scientific reference supporting the Centre by offering strategic advice on plans, programmes, projects, and activities managed by the ALC. It provides suggestions for developing the Centre's vision and policies related to publishing, libraries, technology, activities, and events.

The responsibilities also involve proposing experts to help achieve ALC’s objectives while expanding cooperation with specialised research centres worldwide. Additionally, they suggest organising conferences, seminars, and workshops aligned with the Centre's goals.
