Al Zeer Claims Victory At UAE President’s Cup For Purebred Arabian Horses In Belgium

Al Zeer achieved a significant win at the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses in Belgium. The event, part of the 32nd series edition, took place at Waregem Racecourse before nearly 50,000 spectators. The five-year-old stallion, owned by Mohammed bin Fahad Al Attiyah and trained by François Rohaut, was expertly ridden by Lukas Delozier to secure victory in the 2,170-meter Group 3 race.

The competition was fierce among 12 top contenders. Joe Star, owned by Nasser Hilal Al Alawi and ridden by Mickael Forest, led into the final stages. However, Al Zeer made a decisive move in the last meters to win by a neck with a time of 2:24:01 minutes. Joe Star finished second, while Nabucco Al Maury, guided by Guillaume Guedj-Gay, took third place.

Faisal Al Rahmani, Secretary General of the Higher Organizing Committee of the UAE President’s Cup Series, attended the trophy presentation alongside Khalid Al Qaidi from the UAE Embassy in Belgium and Nelly Philippo Herman of the Belgian Arabian Horse Association. Their presence underscored the event's significance within the equestrian community.

Musallam Al Amri from the Higher Organising Committee expressed pride in the Belgian leg's success. He noted its exceptional attendance and intense competition as evidence of its status as a premier event for Purebred Arabian horses. "We extend our congratulations to owner Mohammed bin Fahad Al Attiyah for Al Zeer’s remarkable victory in Belgium," he stated.

This year's race offered a prize purse of €200,000, attracting elite competitors eager to showcase their horses' prowess. The thrilling finish demonstrated not only Al Zeer's skill but also highlighted the high level of participation from Europe's top stables.
