Al Qasimia University Board Endorses Comprehensive Strategic Plan For 2025 To 2030

The Board of Trustees at Al Qasimia University convened for their 14th regular meeting for the 2024–2025 academic year in Sharjah. Jamal Salem Al Turaifi, who chairs the board and serves as the university's president, led the session. The board assessed various academic and administrative issues, examined the annual report, and discussed updates on institutional and research performance.

At the meeting's outset, the board commended Al Qasimia University for achieving international institutional accreditation from the UK-based Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). This four-year accreditation (2025–2029) acknowledges the university's excellence in eight key areas: governance and management, quality assurance, information systems, research and teaching activities, programmes and qualifications, campus life and student welfare, occupational health and safety, and marketing and student recruitment.

Al Qasimia University Approves New Strategic Plan

The board approved a new strategic plan for 2025–2030. This strategy is anchored in both national and international benchmarks. It focuses on teaching and learning, scientific research, student and alumni development, governance and institutional effectiveness, and engagement with society and industry. The plan aims to position the university as a multicultural academic beacon globally.

Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf presented the annual report highlighting achievements in education, research, and community service. Key initiatives included opening 11 Quran memorisation schools in Ghana and Senegal under His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi's guidance. Additionally, they launched "Mubeen," a digital Arabic language learning platform's pilot phase.

The board reviewed reports on resource development, academic affairs, student recruitment, and international relations. They approved faculty promotions and endorsed new initiatives to enrich students' academic experiences. These initiatives include extracurricular programmes designed to enhance students' skills for future challenges.

Al Turaifi expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his unwavering support since the university’s inception. He noted that this vision has elevated the university’s global profile by enhancing academic services quality, attracting international students, and developing programmes that equip graduates to contribute meaningfully to their nations’ progress.

Graduation Approval

The board approved graduating 171 students from its ninth cohort for 2024–2025 across five faculties: Sharia and Islamic Studies; Arts and Humanities; Economics and Management; Communication; Holy Quran. This decision marks another milestone in the university’s commitment to providing quality education.

The university hosted several international scientific conferences during this period. It also signed numerous cooperation agreements with local, regional, and global institutions while expanding its academic offerings further. Currently enrolling students from 130 nationalities demonstrates its diverse educational environment.
