Al Qasimia University Hosts Third Strategic Performance Forum To Enhance Future Planning

Al Qasimia University (AQU) recently hosted its third strategic performance forum for the 2024/2025 academic year. The event, themed "Effective Evaluation and Sustainable Planning," took place on Sunday in Aljada, Sharjah. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, AQU's Chancellor, advisory council members, vice presidents, deans, directors, and both academic and administrative staff.

The forum's primary goal was to assess the strategic performance indicators for 2024-2025. It also aimed to evaluate the university's current strategic plan for 2020–2025 and develop a vision for the upcoming 2025–2030 plan. This preparation anticipates approval by AQU's Board of Trustees to boost the university's standing in higher education, research, and community service.

Third Strategic Performance Forum at Al Qasimia University

Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf opened the forum with a speech highlighting Al Qasimia University's progress. He credited His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and Jamal Salem Al-Tarifi for their support and leadership. Dr. Al-Khalaf emphasised the university's commitment to excellence in academic and administrative performance through sustainability and innovation.

He further elaborated on AQU's achievements in meeting strategic goals related to education, research, community service, and accreditation. The university has built sustainable partnerships by signing memoranda with national and international institutions. These collaborations offer training programs, professional development opportunities, employ national talents, and attract students globally.

The forum featured four specialised sessions focusing on performance indicators across various university units like colleges and centres. Discussions centred around enhancing these indicators to improve the current strategic plan's effectiveness while setting the stage for future initiatives.

The concluding session summarised general findings and executive actions for the new strategic plan from 2025 to 2030. Recommendations were made to support continuous institutional performance improvement. These efforts aim to solidify AQU as a leading academic institution that meets future aspirations locally and globally.

Dr. Al-Khalaf reiterated that the forum reflects AQU's institutional commitment to evaluating performance effectively for sound planning of its new strategic plan. He stated that this approach ensures that AQU remains a pioneering force in building a distinguished knowledge-based community worldwide.
